The history of this area goes back to Alexander Thompson who purchased 200 acres of land in this area in 1803. The property was renowned for its apple, cherry, pear and plum orchards. Families in the area joined along with their thriving market gardens filled with fruits and vegetables. The old farms were subdivided in the 1930's and 40's, when the present neighbourhood was developed. The lush greenery throughout these streets remind you of the days past when they were used as the orchards and allows you to connect with your feeling of nature while still being in the city.
