I’ve spent many years watching and encouraging my son as he pursued his sports. It started from a very young age as he first tackled T-Ball and seemed to spend more time in the out-field playing with pebbles and enjoying the other kids and scenery around him. But when he finally got up to bat and became serious, he was the star player that he had been watching at professional games and his fantasy of hitting a home run like the big guys, was going to become possible.

Nothing is more encouraging that watching children having fun with a sport and being part of a team that shows them how to work together. I’ve watched kids self esteem grow as they hit their first ball or made it to a base safely and were cheered by family and friends.

This year I’ve proudly sponsored a T-Ball team at my favourite spot in the city – “High Park”. It has an amazing field and treed background making it an ideal place to not only play baseball, but surrounding playgrounds, swimming pool, snack bars, eateries and a stroll to the zoo can be added to any night’s schedule. My team is called the “Rockies”, so if you’re around when they’re playing give them a big cheer! This is a great venue in the west end of Toronto and a perfect spot for your children to participate.
